The author hopes to raise awareness with this book so other children and adults understand what a child experiences when they have social anxiety and are a victim of bullying. The book also raises awareness for hammerhead sharks, an endangered species. The book includes information on sharks, as well as activity pages and a parent section on social anxiety and bullying.

​ Addy Holmes is a Social and Emotional Learning and a Children's Historical Fiction Author. Her social and emotional books cover such topics as self-esteem, uniqueness, friendship, kindness, anxiety, and overcoming obstacles. The books are inspirational lessons for children with relatable fictional characters. All books come with activity pages at the end to reinforce the lessons, and there are additional activities to go with the books on the blog section of the website. Addy taught life skills to Chicago students Kindergarten through 8th grade for many years, and is very knowledgeable in the field of SEL education.
Her soon to be published historical fiction books will cover such topics as the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, the 1893 Chicago World's fair, and 1915 Chicago Eastland disaster. The books will be informative while taking the readers on a journey back in time. These books will also have activity pages to reinforce the story and additional activities on her blog. Addy taught Chicago history to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students in Chicago for many years.
Addy cites that her students are the inspiration of why she became an author. She has always enjoyed working with students and children to help keep them engaged in learning. She is still working in school to make sure her books are current and relatable to children.
Addy also works as a digital creator on many social media platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and others. She creates videos with information on mental health, relationship skills, safety skills, and many other life skills. Her videos of the ghost stories from Chicago reflect her ability to make learning Chicago History fun and exciting. She has over 700 various short, educational videos which aim to inspire and educate. Her profile name is @addyholmesauthor. She has over 1.9k followers on YouTube, over 65k followers on Instagram, and over 90k followers on TikTok. She takes her knowledge from being a teacher in Chicago history and life skills, and aims to educate those around the world.
Addy has had the honor of being Illinois Teacher of the year and also a Golden Apple Nominee in Chicago. She has won various other awards for being a compassionate and outstanding teacher in her school. She is happily married and raised 2 children who are now adults. The oldest is an Architect and her youngest is a Junior High Teacher.
